If you've secured a summit ticket, here are some essentials to know before your visit.


Location
The Vietnam War Summit will be held at the LBJ Presidential Library located on The University of Texas at Austin campus at 2313 Red River St. [map] Our programming sessions will take place in the LBJ Auditorium, located on the lower level of the LBJ complex. Access to the auditorium will be through the lobby of the LBJ School of Public Affairs.


Parking
Public parking will be on a limited availability, first come, first served basis in the Manor Garage, located at 2017 Robert Dedman Dr., for a fee of $3 per hour to a daily maximum of $18.


Vietnam War Summit Parking Map

For those with a summit parking placard, parking will be on a limited availability, first come, first served basis in lots #37 and 39 located on Red River Street between Dean Keeton and Clyde Littlefield Drive at no charge. Please be ready to present the parking placard to the parking attendants on duty as you enter the parking lot. Overflow parking will be available in the Manor Garage, located at 2017 Robert Dedman Dr., at no charge with your summit parking placard.


For those needing ADA parking, please utilize the signed ADA parking spaces in lots #37, 38, and 39 located on Red River Street between Dean Keeton and Clyde Littlefield Drive. You will not need a summit parking placard for entry into these lots, but you will need either a state issued handicapped placard or a handicapped license plate. These ADA spaces will be limited and on a first come, first served basis as well.


We anticipate traffic in and out of our parking lots and the UT parking garages. If possible, we encourage you to consider public transportation and/or ride sharing.


Not attending the summit, but visiting The Wall That Heals or the LBJ Library? Free parking will be available in the LBJ Library visitors' lot (#38). No parking placard is needed.


Where To Pick Up Your Ticket
If you registered for a summit ticket online and received an email confirmation, please print and bring that email confirmation or be ready to show the email confirmation on your phone to receive a commemorative ticket onsite. The ticket redemption table will be located in the breezeway directly outside the entrance to the LBJ School of Public Affairs. You must have a commemorative ticket for entry into your confirmed summit session.


Entrance
The entrance to The Vietnam War Summit will be located in the lobby of the LBJ School of Public Affairs. For entry into each session, you will be required to show your commemorative ticket at three checkpoints: 1) Entry to the LBJ School lobby 2) Access to the stairs at the LBJ Auditorium level 3) To enter the LBJ Auditorium. Please know that only one ticket is allotted per person for each session (whether it be afternoon or evening) for each day. You will be able to keep the ticket as a token from The Vietnam War Summit, but are still required to present it for entry.


ADA Accommodations

Bag Policy
Backpacks, tote bags, or any bag larger than 12 inches in any dimension will not be allowed into the LBJ Auditorium. All bags are subject to search by security personnel, including purses, camera cases, and diaper bags. Those with larger prohibited bags will be turned away. Do not bring any packages that cannot be opened or inspected.


Film and Photography

LBJ Presidential Library events may be filmed and/or photographed. Your attendance constitutes your authorization for the LBJ Presidential Library to use your photograph, voice, or other likeness for purposes related to the library, including but not limited to marketing and promotion in both print and electronic forms.


Public Notice
The United States National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) protects its holdings, staff, and buildings by these measures:


  • All persons entering must provide valid photographic identification, if requested.
  • All persons entering or leaving this building are subject to an inspection of their person & property.
  • Smoking is prohibited in this building.
  • Firearms or other dangerous weapons are prohibited.
  • It is a violation of federal law and punishment by fine and/or imprisonment to knowingly possess, cause or attempt to introduce them in a federal facility.
  • Electronic and physical surveillance is used in the building.
